Παρακάτω μπορείτε να διαβάσετε την συνέντευξη του μουσικοσυνθέτη Γιώργου Βολίκα στο περιοδικό “Volta” το οποίο κυκλοφορεί στην Αθήνα και στο Λονδίνο.

 

Γιώργος Βολίκας: Αν δεν πιστέψεις με ταπεινότητα πρώτα στον εαυτό σου,  δεν θα πιστέψουν και οι άλλοι σε εσένα !

 Giorgos Volikas: If you do not believe with humility first in yourself, others will not believe in you!

 

Ο Γιώργος Βολίκας γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα, στις 25 Σεπτεμβρίου του 1991, είναι Έλληνας μουσικοσυνθέτης και παίζει πιάνο.

O πρώτος του προσωπικός δίσκος κυκλοφόρησε με την εφημερίδα «Ελεύθερος Τύπος» και περιλαμβάνει δέκα δικές του ορχηστρικές συνθέσεις.

Έχει παρουσιάσει συνθέσεις του με επίσημη προσκεκλημένη την Πρέσβειρα της Αυστρίας κ. Mag.Andrea Ikic-Boehm σε εκδήλωση που διοργάνωσε ο Σύλλογος Ελλήνων Φοιτησάντων εν Αυστρία στο Ναυτικό Όμιλο Ελλάδος. Έχει συνθέσει μουσική για θεατρικές παραστάσεις, για ραδιοφωνική εκπομπή και για παιδικό βιβλίο. Η σύνθεσή του «Γένεσις» έχει πλαισιώσει μέρος της τηλεοπτικής εκπομπής «Με Αρετή και Τόλμη» στην ΕΡΤ1 σε σκηνοθεσία Τάσου Μπιρσίμ.

Κατά καιρούς, οι εφημερίδες  «Εθνικός Κήρυξ» στη Νέα Υόρκη, «O Κόσμος» στην Αυστραλία  και «The Montreal Greek Times» στο Μόντρεαλ έχουν αναφερθεί στο καλλιτεχνικό του έργο.

«Πιστεύω» του είναι πως «δεν επιλέγει ο δημιουργός την στιγμή της έμπνευσης αλλά η έμπνευση είναι αυτή που επιλέγει το πότε και αν θα έρθει στο δημιουργό».

 

Giorgos Volikas was born in Athens on September 25, 1991, he is a Greek music composer and he plays the piano.

His first personal album was released with the newspaper «Eleftheros Typos»  and includes ten of his own orchestral compositions.

He has presented his compositions at the Navy Club of Greece, at an event organized by the Hellenic Students’ Association in Austria, with an official guest of the Ambassadress of Austria, Misses Mag.Andrea Ikic-Boehm was the guest of honour. He has composed music for theatrical performances, for a radio show and for children’s books. His composition «Genesis» has framed part of the television show «Me Areti kai Tolmi» (with Virtue and Boldness) on ERT1 directed by Tasos Birsim.

From time to time, «The National Herald» in New York, «The Kosmos» in Australia, and «The Montreal Greek Times» in Montreal have mentioned his artistic work.

Giorgos Volikas believes that it is not the music composer that chooses the moment of the inspiration, but rather it is the inspiration that chooses if and when it will reach the music composer.

 

  • Η πρώτη σας προσωπική δισκογραφική δουλειά φέρει τ’ όνομα «Γένεσις». Τί σημαίνει για εσάς αυτός ο τίτλος;

Δεν σας κρύβω πως για αρκετό καιρό σκεφτόμουν, ποιος θα ήταν ο κατάλληλος τίτλος. Κατά την άποψή μου ο συγκεκριμένος τίτλος, αντιπροσωπεύει με τον καλύτερο δυνατόν τρόπο την αρχή της δημιουργίας του πρώτου μου ολοκληρωμένου προσωπικού δίσκου.

Η συγκεκριμένη δισκογραφική δουλειά, έχει κυκλοφορήσει εδώ και ένα χρόνο στην Ελλάδα και περιλαμβάνει δέκα δικές μου συνθέσεις. Πρωταρχικό ρόλο στην μουσική μου, έχει η μελωδία και το πιάνο.

  • Your first personal album is called «Genesis». What does this title mean to you?

I do not hide that for a long time I was thinking, which would be the right title. In my opinion, this title represents, in the best possible way, the beginning of the creation of my first complete personal album.

This particular record has been released for over a year in Greece and includes ten own compositions. The melody and piano have a prime role in my music.

  •  Η μουσική σας έχει μεταδοθεί από τηλεοπτικούς και ραδιοφωνικούς σταθμούς, τόσο της Ευρώπης, όσο και της Αμερικής, Αυστραλίας και Καναδά. Πώς αισθανθήκατε όταν οι συνθέσεις σας ταξίδεψαν για πρώτη φορά εκτός των συνόρων της Ελλάδας;

Να σας πω την αλήθεια δεν μπορούσα να το συνειδητοποιήσω ! Χαρακτηριστικά θυμάμαι, ότι  ενημερώθηκα από έναν πολύ καλό μου φίλο που ζει στις Η.Π.Α, για το γεγονός ότι η τηλεόραση της Νέας Υόρκης «NGTV», μετέδιδε για πρώτη φορά την σύνθεσή μου «Amanda».

Θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω πραγματικά την Ομογένεια για την ευκαιρία που μου έχει  δώσει, να μεταδοθούν οι συνθέσεις μου στη Βοστώνη (BNN TV), στο Λονδίνο (LGR),  στο Σύδνεϋ (2ΜΜ), στο Μόντρεαλ (Radio Centre-Ville), στη Βιέννη (HarmoniaGr-RadioWien), στο Τορόντο (Radio Melodia Toronto)  και στην Στουτγάρδη (Greek Pulse Radio Stuttgart).

Όταν η δουλειά σου αγκαλιάζεται σταδιακά από τον κόσμο, αυτό σου δίνει ώθηση και δύναμη να συνεχίσεις !

  • Your music has been broadcasted by television and radio stations in Europe, America, Australia and in Canada. How did you feel when your compositions traveled for the first time outside the borders of Greece?

To tell you the truth I could not realize it! Typically, I particularly remember that a very good friend, living in the United States, informed me about the fact that New York TV «NGTV» broadcasted for the first time my composition “Amanda”.

I would really like to thank the Greeks Abroad for the opportunity they gave me to broadcast my compositions in Boston (BNN TV), London (LGR), Sydney (2MM), Radio Center-Ville, Vienna (HarmoniaGr-RadioWien), Toronto (Radio Melodia Toronto) and Stuttgart (Greek Pulse Radio Stuttgart).

When your work is gradually embraced by the world, it gives you impetus and strength to continue!

  •  Ποιες από τις συνεργασίες σας ξεχωρίζετε περισσότερο και γιατί;

Όλοι οι άνθρωποι με τους οποίους είχα τη χαρά να συνεργαστώ, έχουν ξεχωριστή θέση στην καρδιά μου. Με βοήθησαν να εξελιχθώ και να γίνω καλύτερος μέσα από τις συμβουλές τους. Τους ευχαριστώ πραγματικά !

Η στιγμή όμως της επαγγελματικής μου πορείας που ξεχωρίζω ιδιαίτερα, ήταν όταν συνέθεσα την πρότυπη μουσική για την Επίσημη Διαφημιστική Καμπάνια  του Συλλόγου «Ο Καλός  Σαμαρείτης-Κακοποιημένης Γυναίκας και Παιδιού». Η συγκεκριμένη συνεργασία ήρθε να μου θυμίσει πως πάνω από όλα, είμαστε άνθρωποι και είμαστε υποχρεωμένοι να βοηθάμε τους συνανθρώπους μας.

Ευχαριστώ πολύ τον συγκεκριμένο Σύλλογο για το απλόχερο μάθημα ζωής που μου έδωσε !

  • Which of your partnerships stands out for and why?

All the people, with whom I had the pleasure to work, have a special place in my heart. They helped me evolve and become better through their advice. I really thank them!

But the moment of my professional career, which I especially distinguished, was when I composed the standard music for the Official Advertising Campaign of the Association «The Good Samaritan-of the Abused Woman and Child». This particular collaboration has reminded me that, above all, we are human and we are obliged to help our fellow human beings.

I thank very much this particular Association for having given to me a very generous life lesson!

  • Γυρίζοντας τον χρόνο πίσω, πιστεύετε πως θα επιλέγατε πάλι να ασχοληθείτε επαγγελματικά με την μουσική;

 Για να είμαι απόλυτα ειλικρινής, δεν μπορώ να φανταστώ τον εαυτό μου να μην ασχολείται με την σύνθεση μουσικής.  Είναι κάτι το οποίο πραγματικά μου βγαίνει αβίαστα και με εκφράζει απόλυτα.  Ανέκαθεν πίστευα, πόσο δύσκολο και ταυτόχρονα όμορφο είναι, να δημιουργείς κάτι από το μηδέν. Καλή ώρα και εσείς δημιουργείτε από το μηδέν μία συνέντευξη. Ευχαριστώ τον Θεό που μου έδειξε ποιον δρόμο να ακολουθήσω.

Κατά την άποψή μου θεωρώ πολύ σημαντικό να γνωρίζει κανείς το αντικείμενο με το οποίο επιλέγει να ασχοληθεί στη ζωή του και πάνω από όλα να στηρίξει την επιλογή του. Αν δεν πιστέψεις με ταπεινότητα εσύ πρώτα στον εαυτό σου, δεν θα πιστέψουν και οι άλλοι σε εσένα ! Είμαι ένας νέος μουσικοσυνθέτης και εύχομαι με τον καιρό ο κόσμος να με γνωρίσει καλύτερα μέσα από την μουσική μου.

  • Turning back time, do you think you would opt to work professionally with music again?

To be honest, I can’t imagine myself not dealing with the composition of music. It’s something that really comes out effortlessly and expresses me perfectly. I have always believed, how difficult and at the same time beautiful it is to create something from scratch. Good time and you’re creating an interview from scratch. I thank God for showing me the way to follow.

In my opinion, I find it very important to know the subject with which he chooses to take care of his life and above all to support his choice. If you do not believe with humility first, the others will not believe in you! I am a new music composer and I want the world to get to know me better through my music.

  • Ποια είναι τα μελλοντικά σου σχέδια;

Θα ήθελα να μπορέσω με αργά και σταθερά βήματα, να υπηρετήσω με διάρκεια και συνέπεια τον χώρο της μουσικής. Εύχομαι να προσθέσω και εγώ  στο μέλλον ένα μικρό λιθαράκι σε αυτόν τον τεράστιο πλούτο μουσικής που μας έχουν αφήσει οι Μεγάλοι Έλληνες Συνθέτες μας.

Επιπλέον, θα με ενδιέφερε πολύ,  να χρησιμοποιηθεί η μουσική μου στον κινηματογράφο, καθώς επίσης και να παρουσιάζω ζωντανά στο πιάνο τις συνθέσεις μου, τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και στο εξωτερικό.  Πιστεύω πολύ στην άμεση επαφή του μουσικοσυνθέτη με το ακροατήριο !

Αυτήν την περίοδο, ετοιμάζω τον δεύτερο προσωπικό μου δίσκο, που ακόμα βέβαια είναι σε πολύ πρώιμο στάδιο. Τολμώ να πω πως έρχομαι καθημερινά αντιμέτωπος με τον ίδιο μου τον εαυτό, αφού επιθυμία μου  αποτελεί  η μουσική που θα ακούσει από εμένα  ο ακροατής, να είναι αξιόλογη και αληθινή.

  •  What are your future plans?

I would like to be able to slowly and steadily take steps to serve the music industry with continuity and consistency. I hope to play my part to this huge wealth of music left to us by our Great Greek Composers.

In addition, I would be very interested in the use of my music in cinema, as well as to present live my compositions in Greece and abroad. I believe in the direct contact of the music composer with the audience!

Currently, I’m preparing my second album, which is still at a very early stage. I dare to say that I come daily to face myself, since my desire is the music that the listener will hear from me, be remarkable and true.
